Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Pixl Proof is a website quality-control platform operated by Pixl Events (“Pixl Proof,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use pixlproof.com and our related services (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. We’ve tried to write it in plain language rather than legalese.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, company name, and any other details you choose to provide. Your password is stored only as a salted hash — we never store it in plain text.
- Projects and scan data. When you add a website and run a scan, we store the URL, the findings we generate, scores, screenshots captured during the scan, and any notes, assignments, or resolution decisions you make.
- Content of the sites you scan. Our scanner reads only what a normal browser would receive when visiting a public page. We retain screenshots and the specific evidence attached to a finding; we do not crawl or store areas of a site that require a login you have not supplied.
- Usage information. Like most web services, we automatically receive standard log data such as IP address, browser type, and the pages you view, which we use to operate and secure the Service.
- Communications. If you email us or contact support, we keep a record of that correspondence.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service — including running scans, generating findings, and producing reports;
- Send transactional email such as account verification, finding assignments, scheduled-scan summaries, and share-link notifications;
- Respond to your requests and provide customer support;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized activity;
- Comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your scans to train third-party advertising models.
3. AI processing
Pixl Proof uses third-party AI models (currently Anthropic’s Claude) to analyze the rendered appearance and content of the pages you scan and to power the per-finding chat. When you run a scan or chat about a finding, the relevant page content and screenshot may be sent to that provider solely to generate your result. We do not authorize these providers to use your data to train their models.
4. How we share information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With your team. Projects are visible to other members of your organization (identified by your shared email domain) so you can collaborate on QC.
- Through share links you create. When you generate a read-only share link for a finding or report, anyone with that link can view the shared content until the link expires (30 days) or you revoke it.
- With service providers. We rely on trusted vendors to run the Service — for example, cloud hosting, database, object storage, email delivery, and the AI provider above. They may process data only on our instructions.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Pixl Proof, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure in the United States. Screenshots are kept in private object storage and are accessible only to you, your team, and anyone you explicitly send a share link to — they are never made publicly browsable. We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and signed, expiring tokens for shared content. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
6. Data retention
We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. You can delete a project at any time, which permanently removes its runs, findings, and screenshots. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business reasons.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most account details directly in your settings, delete projects yourself, or contact us to make a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or within the Service.
10. Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at privacy@pixlproof.com.
